With over 1,200 miles of trail within the Bighorn National Forest, hikers will never get bored! From meadows filled with thousands of fragrant wild flowers, to dramatic canyons, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife, there is something for everyone here. The 180,000 acre Cloud Peak Wilderness Area is a place of special interest where no motorized vehicles are permitted. It is named after the tallest mountain in the range, Cloud Peak Mountain, which stands 13,167 feet above sea level. On the East side of Cloud Peak Mountain you can find the last remaining glacier in the range. Lace up your boots and head out on your next adventure, right from our front door!
There are 3 beautiful waterfalls within 15 minutes of the lodge. Guests also enjoy hiking up to the Medicine Wheel along an amazing ridge top trail. We have 6 pairs of snowshoes available for guests for wintertime hiking. There are plenty of options to choose from whether you are interested in short day hikes or a full on, multi-day backpacking trip. Our staff at Wyoming High Country Lodge are here to help so don't hesitate to ask us questions about which option is best for you.
